I have never once in the past decade or so, I am 18, cried. But for some reason, every time I have a dream, which is usually every night and extremely vivid, I cry. Sometimes for stupid things, like a tree dying, or real things, death of a loved one. Only with the second one, the 'loved one' isn't a real person. Cigarettes a good thing for society?

Almost every time i watch tv, i see a commercial about how evil big tobacco is. Cigarettes do kill, yes.. but so do many other things society has created.. even the things we depend on most such as cars can kill people without a person even being under the influence of something. I lost a friend to gun violence, but i don't blame guns. I blame the society who created the criminal who used the gun. So why do so many non-smokers whine about cigarettes? That's just a ping question. The real question i have is that with all the complaints about cigarettes, why does no one ponder any positive effects of cigarettes? It is science fact that overpopulation is one of the most dangerous threats to civilization. Cigarettes kill a person what, every 8 seconds i think it is? I'm a sopre in high school and last month, I had to take my finals for the semester and for my English cl part of it was an essay. The prompt was basically should sports teams have an "everyone plays" policy regardless of skill. I argued against it. Last week, I got my essay back and my teacher had underlined a sentence that said "Equality is a dangerous thing to give to people". She said it was a "scary thought" but I don't really get why. My argument was that making it so that everyone could play separates the elite from the mediocre making the players think they are equal when in reality they aren't. My dad said I wasn't wrong but that my statement was "politically incorrect". Call me cynical, but I see life as a triangle. Some are on top, some are on bottom, and everyone else is in the middle. I mean, everyone can't be the next Obama. Someones got to be the next janitor or cashier. Take the iPhones for example. When they first came out and people started buying them, was it a cool thing because it was the most brilliant thing in thing in the whole world and made life a million times better? No. It was mainly because some people could afford them and others could not. The thing that makes something a trend's center is that not everyone could get it or be it. If everyone in America had $500 million dollars, $500 million dollars wouldn't be considered rich anymore since things like that are supposed to separate the haves from the have nots which would be defeating the purpose. I mean no matter what happens, there will always be that tip on the triangle that a certain amount of people will not be able to reach. Saltwater fish cooked. HELP!!!?

I have a damsel and a chocolate chip starfish. I am brand new to salt water fish. I have had the tank set up for 1 month. The starfish was in there for 2 weeks and was happy and healthy. Then I put the damsel in 2 days ago. He was also happy. Today the starfish was 'wilted', with his arms hanging down. I checked the water and it was way to cold, I guess the stupid heater broke. So I put a heater by my tank, which was a big mistake! 0_0 An hour later I check the temperature and it was 100 degrees!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!! The starfish was all curled up and the damsel is barely alive. I just kept pouring in little bits of cool premade ocean water solution. What more can I do to help the poor little guys live through my wretched mistake?

Processor doesn't matter as much as what it's capable of. AM3+ is just a minor architecture variation on AM3. Just grab a processor, build around that and worry mostly about graphics processing power more than raw processing power. A 2.4 GHz quad-core processor is going to perform equally well regardless if it's Intel or AMD...you should know that if you're a gamer. I personally recommend Intel since they are simply better from a design standpoint, especially the i-series processors. An i5 or i7 will be fine for you. Worry more about your GPU. Or figure out a way to get the Cell processor to work in a computer...that would be something to see.

hey you guys. i am trying to lose 20 pounds or more this summer. I am not sure this is a good idea but when i am done with it i guess we will all see. and it is so much more easier gaining weight than losing. i am an LA teenager and yes i am influenced by all those models. i workout a lot and i am almost 14. i basically just well not halfway done with puberty and height but anyways. my measurements are 35-26-37 everyone compliments me on my figure and say i am skinny. but i am not just statisfied because i weigh 140 pounds. yes i am kind of muscular and i play sports but i do not think that's any excuse. so i am planning this summer to be like 120 pounds or less if possible. because if i get skinnier i would look more like an hourgl. any ideas. i think summer is the greatest time to lose weight because when i return to school everyone is like wow. please do not recommend supplements because i can not take them. i am not obese do not get it wrong. i am just a rich teenage black girl with a dillemma. i've got the determination i jsut need enlightenment

ok so im asian right? and of course most asians tend to have short hair..but big problem..literally i have a huge forehead. so i want hair that can cover my forehead. but one problem whenever i TRY to grow out my hair the front seems fine but the sides instead of going over the ears it likes pops out like yea and the back to theres no way for it to like stick to my head.. know what i mean? oh and btw my hair is really thick like one strand of mine is like 3 strands of a normal american. haha yea i compared. but yeah i want it kinda like zac efron-ish or jesse mccartney ish but not jesses new haircut like his old haircut.. and i just want to know what i should tell the salon lady.. cuz i really dont want to bring a picture of either zac or jesse to a salon. i mean seriously what would people think. and fyi my whole life i never got a haircut that i actually liked i mean its always my forehead showing . pops out on the side..blah blah blah and a decent haircut is a ginormous improvement.

My 9 week old infant had been sleeping through the night from 8:30pm to 6am for 4 wks...i know thats great?

Recently this week he began waking numerous times throughout the night. of course i would change his diaper and give him a bottle uming he is maybe going through a growth spurt but even has a hard time falling back asleep. it takes me about an hour. Also he always fell asleep with a pacifier and still does but once asleep i would take it out of the crib and he would sleep. Okay so im a recovering anorexic and I still somewhat restrict my calories to about 1,500. I run 8 miles four times a week and dance and strength train three times a week. I;m 90 and 5'4. This weekend im having a party. And Im scared, b/c every time I get drunk I binge...BAD..Like epic amounts of food. One time i ate 6 pop-tarts with cool whip on top and 8 doughnuts, and 5 cookies, a bowl of chips, a bowl of cereal, and a bow of candy corn. This happens every time! I dont want to binge this time, is there something i can eat before i start drinking to not make me binge or anything i can do? Dont say not drink this is my party i can drink if i want! I think the reason i binge when i'm drunk is b/c being an ex-anorexic its my fear of eating.

Did i fracture my wrist?

Yesterday I was sitting on a bench with my dog on a leash when my dog all of a sudden noticed a squirrel and ran at it. My hand stayed with a firm grip on the leash and ended up ramming my wrist into the edge of the wooden bench. It was excruciating and i have quite a sc on my skin from where it skidded along the wood. My dog is a very strong pit-bull/boxer mix - so it was a good amount of force. I have minor swelling and no discoloration so i'm thinking my wrist is fine. When i go to pick up something with that hand i get a sharp pain at the top of my wrist that goes deep inside it feels. I thought fractures always had black/blue bruising that came along with them - so I am thinking I am fine but I am still concerned. I am a 29 year old woman that is very thin (5'8", 100 lbs) but I have never broken any bones whatsoever.

Well, I think that if all of the people you know have such nice things to say about you then they're all probably right so why don't you find a guy that you like and ask him out. You sound like a great catch so he should say yes. Secondly, your guy friend could be right. The way I always see it is that if important people in your life see you as one way then that's most likely the way you are. There's no way you can trust your own judgement of how others see you because it will always be biased. I had this book read to me when I was very young (so like, mid 90s probably) and I don't remember all the details... but there was a pumpkin patch and a quilt involved... I remember that this little girl kept taking one square from her quilt and putting it on a different pumpkin (so that they wouldn't freeze I think) until she didn't have any quilt left... I think at the end all the quilt squares get caught up in the wind and make a quilt around the moon or something. Anyone? I'm really quite ignorant about this, but I was wondering what kind of careers deal with environmental conservation and what they entail. Has banning school PDA (public display of affection) gone too far?

Here at Burlington High School, the display of love to someone of an opposite is not tolerated. It's not too extreme, but is still too frowned upon by the school board to be allowed in school. I've read that some schools even ban hugging just as a friendly gesture. At my school, we're not allowed to kiss, sit on eachother's laps, or even stand less than a foot away from eachother without being yelled at. My friends even had to have a conference with the principal and their parents. For one thing, this is a high school. It's most likely that 99% of couples have been dating even before high school. We're teenagers and are practically adults. Love is not at all a sign of hatred or violence. In fact, they're more like hypocrites. The school says no violence, yet we can't even do the opposite. They should be happy that there's more respect between other teens than hate, even though fights still occur in this school, which is partially because of the fact that they ban any sign of affection towards someone of the opposite . The more rules you make, the more someone's going to burst and break those rules. Lack of PDA causes couples to not be able to see eachother as often and interract, ending in that couple breaking up, becoming depressed, and sooner or later failing school. This zero tolerance of PDA not only affects the couples, but their amount of knowledge as well. In fact, even kissing should be allowed as long as it's not in such a crowded place. As long as we're not engaging in ual contact with eachother, any gesture of love should be allowed that doesn't represent rowdy behavior. Students who encounter this but never have it in mind should create a petition, because I can guarantee that more than 3/4 of the school will agree, including parents!

My blond hair changed to brown when I was seven and I quit cheerleading for ballet. He seemed to hate me more after that. He hates that I have ivory instead of olive skin. When, my grades began slipping in 7th he began calling me a worthless good for nothing girl that will get pregnant at sixteen. I`m fifteen and never kissed a boy. He punched me on some occasions. All the hateful comments made me feel so alone. I traded the emotional pain for self inflicted physical pain. Yesterday when I decided to put some of that hair dye that washes out after one wash in my bangs. He started yelling at me saying why couldn`t I be myself. I have a Samsung Blackjack 2. I needed to charge my phone but I was in the car so I used my usb cord I had and a converter that turns the cigarette lighter in the car into a USB port. I plugged the phone in and the screen went completely white. I tried pulling the battery out of the phone for 30 sec and turned the phone back on. Confused 16 yr old girl... abuse or no?

Well just do some light running just prepare mentally. Last thing you want to do is push yourself too hard before basic and end up getting hurt. My dad who served in my army said one of his buddys before they joined would run with 80 pounds on there back. He asked him what he was doing. He said to my day "well im getting ready for the marines" My dads response was "you dont have to worry about getting in shape they will do that for you." Questions about the Beatles Remasters?

Does the BOX set of Stereo and the box set of mono remasters 2009 have any type of sleeves for each disc to fit into so they don't scratch? I bought the each disc and they are already scratched, as their is no inner sleeve to slide the disc in. Also, do the CAPITOL box sets have the inner sleeves. I guess the sleeves may be like the original albums had a paper sleeve to fit the record in. My singles are already scratched, and I am VERY careful with these. Any advice on how to deal with chronic lying?

Well, all the advice I can give you is what happend with my past relationship with my ex. He was the same way, however he was not successful or respected in his work. He would lie from everything to where he bought the cat to the biggest about going out and cheating on me and ect. I tried everything from ending the relationship, to trying to help his ego. My ex always seemed to be ego-tistical and big headed, but I came to the conclusion that the reason he lied so much was because he was self-consious and down on himself *hense why he always lied to make himself better*. And every time I knew he was lying I would always give him a chance to come clean. Like are you sure this is what really happend....and if he said yes I would call him out on it. He seemed to quit lying as much or just started getting a little more sneeky...either way it helped a little bit. and he always did put himself on the defensive which always make me seem like he did have something to hid. However, I finally ended it because of all the trust issues and the fact I finally caught him cheating on me. Kinda...and i mean kinda sounds like what you are going through, but since he is older, I feel that his ways will never change. Lying for 54 years can be very hard to overcome. and like you said since he does go on the defensive.... shows he does have something to defend and hide. I guess the best bet would just give him a chance to come clean and if he doesnt it comfront him cuz you have a clear example of him lying... just make sure when he does tell you the truth that you dont get mad at him.. make sure you say...thank you for telling the truth...and then why your upset...and then end on a positive note...other than that...its all you can do i guess..
