Minor earthquakes occurring daily. Could this mean that there might be a major earthquake?

Living on a greek island means I have become accustomed to the odd earthquake now and then.However, during the last month or so, there has been an increase in the number of earthquakes occurring nearly daily. Could this be an indication that there might be a major quake?
