What should I do about these guys that I am seeing and am I wrong for breaking up with one to be with de other

Okay so here is the biz... I am now in a relationship with a guy that I have liked for three years...problem is he is not giving me what I need (emotional connection, affection, attenton). He is cool with us just hanging out and not doing too much of anything and I need more. In steps guy2 who has so much more going for him in my eyes like the fact that he loves to show attention, pda, etc. My now boyfriend (guy 1) has not really done anything that warrants me leaving him for guy2 besides not complying with what I need or tryiong to show more attention. I told him that if he has to bend over backwards to appease me then we are not meant to be but would I be wrong to just up and leave him with out validity?
