I like an ugly guy...?

I started talking to this guy after my friend gave me his number. And i REALLY started to like is personality. He seems perfect all but one thing... he's not really my type... I'm in average looking girl i've always just dated average guys... but he's uglyish... When i seem him in not like "ewww, he's so gross!" but then again i'm not like "awww, he's such a cutie" either. I love how he makes me feel and he needs me in his life, and wants me (which i love)... so... do you think it'd work out dating wise if i truly only liked him for his personality. And yes i know looks aren't everything, but you also have to be somewhat attracted to the guy. Help? Adivce? Same situation? Thanks. (:
